Palsino sound design — staggered reel stops, win cues and autoplay rules
Palsino's sound is synthesised in the browser, never autoplays, and is fully under your control. Each reel locks with its own rising clunk, a match plays a bright four-note flourish, and the jackpot gets a longer brass fanfare.

Nothing plays until you click
Browsers block audio that starts without a user gesture, and rightly so. Palsino never even creates an audio context until you press Spin or touch the volume control, so the page cannot trigger a blocked-autoplay warning and you will never load Pal Stars into a surprise noise. Sound is generated with the Web Audio API — no audio files, no extra download weight.
One sound per reel stop
Reels no longer stop together. The first locks at about 1.6 seconds, the second at 2.9 and the third at 4.2, and each lock plays a distinct clunk pitched higher than the one before. Two matching reels showing while the third still blurs is the whole point: the stagger turns a result the server already decided into a few seconds of genuine suspense.
Win, jackpot and miss cues
A match that pays packs plays a bright ascending four-note flourish. The jackpot plays something clearly different — a brassier fanfare, roughly twice as long, with a held final note — so you know you hit the top line without reading the banner. A dead spin gets a short low two-note drop and nothing more.
Volume and mute
A slider and a mute button sit beside the reels. Default volume is deliberately moderate rather than timid, and your setting is saved on your device and reused next visit. Muting is absolute: no cue plays at all, including the jackpot.
Reduced motion and screen readers
If your system asks for reduced motion, the reel blur and the lock bounce are switched off and the reels simply change face. The spin counter and the payout banner are live regions, so a screen reader announces the result text without needing the animation. Site-wide accessibility controls — larger text, high contrast, visible focus ring — apply to Palsino too.
