What breeding inherits and what it rerolls
Passive skills are inherited from the merged parent pool. IV-style talent stats for HP, Attack and Defence are rolled fresh on every hatch.

Passives inherit
The game rolls how many passives come from the parent pool — roughly 40% one, 30% two, 20% three, 10% four — then fills any remaining slots randomly.
Stats do not inherit
Talent values are re-rolled per egg regardless of parent stats, so breeding two high-stat parents does not produce a high-stat child.
What that means in practice
Breed for passives only. Fix stats afterwards with condensing and Statues of Power, which are deterministic and repeatable.
Reading a hatch
Check passives first and stats second. A perfect stat roll with the wrong passives is worth less than the reverse, because passives cannot be added later.
