What condensing changes
Star rank only. Level, passives and IVs on the kept Pal are untouched.
Cost curve
Duplicate requirements rise with each rank, so later stars cost several times what the first one did.
Species rule
Duplicates must be the same Pal. Subspecies and separate species do not substitute for one another.
Fruit equivalence
One Starfruit of the matching step replaces that rank's entire duplicate requirement.
Breeding as a duplicate farm
A single breeding pair produces same-species eggs on repeat, which is usually faster than hunting wild spawns for the later ranks.
