Reps at store level are the cheapest way to build the pattern recognition a long Swiss day demands.
Keep a matchup log
Record opponent colours, on the play or draw, and the turn the game was decided. Three weeks of that data beats any tier list.
Stabilise your list
Constant tinkering means you never learn a build. Change at most a couple of slots between events unless the metagame genuinely moves.
Read the rules documents once, properly
The comprehensive rules and the floor rules are dry but short, and knowing them prevents the avoidable game losses that end seasons.
