Per-box expectations
Plan on base and R/RR cards filling most of a box, with a single chase-slot hit per box on average. Two boxes is the practical minimum to expect one OSR of a specific card you want.
Chasing one specific card
With 15 OSR printings in the pool, the odds of a given box producing the exact OSR you want are roughly one in 15 of your box-level chase hits — use the Pal Stars pull-rate calculator on /tcg-tools to model your own box count.
Singles vs sealed
For a single chase card, buying the single is almost always cheaper than the expected sealed spend. Buy sealed only if you want the whole set or enjoy the opening.
Track your pulls
Log every pack in the Pal Stars pack tracker so your personal hit rate — not marketing copy — drives your next purchase.
Grading
Textured SSP and gold SSS cards show edge wear fastest. Sleeve on pull, double-sleeve for storage, and grade only after checking centring on the official scan.
