A Verdant Egg takes ~30 minutes to hatch at the default 1.0 server rate, and the timer only advances while the egg sits in a placed Egg Incubator inside your base radius.

Base hatch time
~30 minutes at PalEggDefaultHatchingTime = 1.0. Setting that value to 0 in server settings makes every egg hatch instantly.
Temperature matters
Keep the incubator in a temperate, roofed room; extreme heat or cold pauses progress on every egg type.
Parallel incubation
Each Egg Incubator holds one egg. Build six to eight of them in a dedicated hatch room — they cost only Paldium Fragments, Cloth and Stone.
Offline progress
On dedicated servers timers advance while you are offline; in single-player they only advance while the save is loaded.
Upgrade path
Electric Egg Incubators (Ancient Technology) cut the effective wait further and are the correct end-game investment for Huge eggs.
