The first sixty minutes decide your entire early game. Skip the tutorial detour, pick the Windswept Hills spawn and follow this exact route to reach Level 8 with a full crafting base before night one.

Spawn and catch three Lamballs
Land in the Windswept Hills, beat three Lamballs with a wooden club and use starter Pal Spheres — Lamball's 65% capture rate means every sphere sticks. Two Lamballs cover Handiwork; the third takes Transporting.
Place the Palbox at Plateau Cliff
Head north-east to the flat cliff overlooking the beach — flat ground, close berries, and no aggressive Alpha within 200m. Drop the Palbox, then chain-build a workbench, campfire and wooden chest inside the base radius.
Rush the Foxparks + Cattiva combo
Foxparks unlocks Kindling and Cattiva doubles carry weight when set as your partner. Both spawn within a 3-minute run of the plateau.
Level 6 tech unlocks
Spend your first six tech points on: Palbox → Wooden Club → Bow → Feed Box → Berry Plantation → Repair Hammer. That covers hunger, weapons and Pal SAN through Level 10.
Night one survival checklist
Bed inside the base, lit campfire, 10+ cooked Red Berries, one Foxparks on Kindling. Sleep restores every Pal's SAN and skips cold-weather damage.
