The turn, step by step
Every turn runs the same sequence, and most beginner losses come from skipping the energy step or attacking before developing the board. Draw first, commit energy second, then play Pals and supports, then attack, then pass. Because energy accumulates, a turn spent developing is rarely a wasted turn.

- Develop the bench before pushing damage; a lone attacker trades badly.
- Read attack costs before committing energy you cannot recover.
Pals, supports and Soul cards
Pal cards do the fighting, support cards manipulate the board or your hand, and Soul cards feed the energy economy that powers attacks. A deck that runs too few Souls stalls with strong cards it cannot pay for, which is the most common list-building mistake.
- Count your energy sources before adding another expensive Pal.
- Supports are answers — keep a few rather than none.
- Soul counts scale with your curve, not with your card quality.
Winning the game
Matches are decided by knocking out Pals rather than by burning through a deck, so tempo is the resource that matters. Trading a cheap Pal to stall a turn while your energy grows is usually stronger than racing for damage from turn one.
