Palworld TCG Rarity Symbols

Palworld TCG rarity is printed twice on every card: as a symbol beside the card number and, on parallel printings, as a suffix appended to the code. Common and rare tiers carry plain letters, while parallel treatments such as TSP, SSP and OSR are appended to the base number. The suffix is what determines value — the base card and its parallel are different collectibles with different prices.

Reading the suffix

A base card such as ETD01-012 and its parallel ETD01-012TSP share a name and often an illustration, but they are separate printings with separate print runs and separate markets. When you list, buy or track a card, the suffix is the identifier that matters. A listing that omits it is ambiguous by definition.

  • Always include the suffix when listing a card for sale.
  • Two identical-looking scans can differ hundreds of dollars in value.
  • Foiling and texture are treatment cues, not proof of tier.

How rarity maps to price

Rarity sets scarcity, but demand sets price. A chase parallel of a widely played Pal outprices a rarer parallel of an unplayed one, which is why the price board tracks each printing separately rather than assuming a rarity premium. Thin markets on high rarities also move violently on a single sale.

Grading and condition

On parallel printings, condition is a larger share of value than on base cards, because the treatments show edge wear and surface scratching more readily. Inspect corners and surface under angled light before paying a premium, and price graded copies separately from raw ones.

  • Foil parallels show handling damage far more than matte base cards.
  • Sleeve chase pulls immediately — most damage happens after the pull.
