Palworld combat stacks three damage sources: your weapon, your active Pal's attacks, and the partner skill on your shoulder Pal. Element matchups apply a 1.5x multiplier for advantage and a 0.5x reduction for disadvantage, so bringing the right element beats bringing a better gun. Weapons and ammo
Every gun in Palworld is limited by ammo throughput, not by the gun itself. A base with a Gunpowder chain and a Sulfur mining route out-damages a base with a better weapon and no ammunition. Bows and crossbows stay relevant far longer than players expect because their arrows cost only wood and stone.

Partner skills and mounted combat

- Mounted flying Pals trivialise ground alphas with no ranged attack.

Fighting alphas and tower bosses
Alphas hit hard but telegraph; tower bosses have a hard timer, so damage per second matters more than survivability. Bring the counter element, a healing Pal or plenty of Mega Shields, and check the boss's element before the timer starts rather than after.
