Ore & coal base defense, loadout and Palbox tips

A great mining coordinate is worthless if raids wipe your Digtoise mid-shift. This walkthrough covers defense turrets, Pal loadouts and Palbox layouts that keep an ore or coal base running through a full 8-hour offline session.

Key takeaways
  • Palbox and worker slots
  • Defense turrets and walls
  • Food and sanity loop
  • Passive skills to reroll

Palbox and worker slots

Upgrade the Palbox to Level 3 for 20 worker slots before you commit to a mining base. Assign 4 miners, 2 haulers (Cattiva or Lifmunk), 1 kindler for the on-site Furnace and 1 medic (Wumpo Botan or Lyleen).

Defense turrets and walls

Two Musket Turrets on the ridge side and one Missile Turret at the entrance stop every scripted raid up to level 45. Wrap the base in Level 3 Metal Walls — Alpha Anubis and Alpha Blazamut cannot break them.

Food and sanity loop

Two Cooler Boxes stocked with cooked Chikipi + Berry Plantation output keeps sanity above 60. Add one Hot Spring so your miners never trigger a work-strike.

Passive skills to reroll

Legend, Artisan, Serious and Work Slave stack multiplicatively for +130% mining speed. Reroll at /breeding using cakes farmed from your Ranch.
