Type tells you the element
A bred egg always matches the child species, so the egg type confirms the roll before you incubate. Wild eggs are random within their type.
Size tells you the tier
Huge eggs hatch the highest-tier Pals of their element and take the longest. Large sits in the middle; normal eggs hatch common Pals.
Where wild eggs come from
Nests on cliffs, dungeon rooms and high-altitude plateaus. Huge Dragon and Huge Scorching nests cluster in the volcanic and desert regions.
