What is the Eternal Ascent release wave

It begins with two ready-to-play decks—Red・Green and Blue・Purple—on December 18, 2026, then expands with the third main booster on January 29, 2027. The booster is listed with 100 normal card types plus parallels.

When do the Eternal Ascent trial decks release

Preorders opened on 19 August 2026 through the official news post, and the official Products page lists the street date as 18 December 2026. Treat any earlier date you see on a marketplace listing as a reseller estimate, not an official release.

What set code do they use

The official card list had not published Eternal Ascent card numbers at the time of writing, so the printed prefix is unconfirmed. The first-wave decks used ETD01 (Dawn of Palpagos Red・Blue) and ETD02 (Dawn of Palpagos Green・Purple), so Eternal Ascent is expected to continue that ETD sequence — verify against the official card list once it goes live.

Which Eternal Ascent deck should I buy

Pick on color identity rather than power: Red・Green historically leans on aggressive attackers backed by resource ramp, while Blue・Purple leans on control, card draw and disruption. If you plan to buy one of each, you get both halves of the color wheel and a guaranteed two-player starting point.

Are trial decks tournament legal

Trial-deck cards are legal in standard constructed play the same way booster cards are, subject to any errata on the official Rules page. Bushiroad had not published Eternal Ascent-specific legality notes at the time of writing, so check the Rules and Events pages before your first sanctioned event.
