What fusion breeding actually is in Palworld
Fusion breeding in Palworld means using the Breeding Farm to hatch a variant form — Ignis, Noct, Cryst, Lux, Aqua or Terra — instead of a base Pal. There is no separate fusion machine: variants are ordinary breeding results whose breed power sits between two specific parents.

No fusion device exists
Palworld has no fusion altar or merge item. Every so-called fusion Pal is a distinct species with its own breed power, hatched from the standard Breeding Farm plus Cake loop. Community guides call them fusions because both parents visibly contribute element and colour.
How the game picks a variant
The game averages both parents' hidden breed power, adds one, then snaps to the nearest species. Variant forms occupy narrow breed-power slots, so hitting them needs an exact parent pair rather than a rough guess.
Why variants are worth the Cake
Variants usually change element and work suitability — Jormuntide Ignis becomes a Kindling powerhouse, Vanwyrm Cryst swaps to Ice with Cooling, Pyrin Noct gains Dark scaling. That makes one variant replace two base Pals in a base loadout.
Requirements checklist
Breeding Farm (tech 19), Egg Incubator, one Cake per egg, and one male plus one female parent. Temperature-match the incubator with a Heater or Cooler so variant eggs hatch at full speed.
