Palworld Beginners Wiki
In your first ten Palworld levels, catch ten of every early Pal for the capture bonus, unlock the Palbox and a Primitive Workbench, build your first base on flat ground beside a stone and wood node, and assign Lamball, Cattiva and Pengullet to handling, mining and watering. Spend tech points on the Palbox line before weapons — production keeps you alive longer than damage does.

Catch ten of everything before you fight anything
Palworld pays a permanent capture bonus for repeat catches of the same species, and the reward at ten captures is worth more than any early weapon. Every Lamball, Cattiva, Chikipi and Jolthog you walk past is free experience and free technology points, so throw a sphere at low-level Pals even when your team is full.
- Weaken to roughly a third of maximum HP before throwing for a realistic capture chance.
- Throw from behind: a rear throw multiplies the capture rate.
- Keep 20+ Pal Spheres crafted at all times — running out is the main cause of lost alphas.
Where to place your first base
A first base needs flat ground, a stone node, trees and a nearby fast travel point. Sloped ground breaks Pal pathing, and Pals that cannot path to a workstation stop working and lose sanity. Plateau ground in the Plateau of Beginnings around the Small Settlement satisfies all four conditions without inviting high-level raids.
- Leave a two-tile gap around every workstation so Pals do not deadlock.
- Place the Palbox first, then the wood and stone pits inside its radius.
- Add a bed and a feed box before any decoration — sanity loss starts immediately.
The technology order that actually matters
Technology points are the bottleneck, not level. Unlock the Palbox upgrades, Primitive Workbench, Feed Box, Palworld beds and the Crusher first; weapons can wait until level 12 or so because captured Pals do most of your early damage. Ancient technology points come only from tower bosses, so save them for the Egg Incubator.
- Feed Box and beds prevent the sanity spiral that stalls new bases.
- The Crusher unlocks stone bricks, which gate every later building tier.
- Ancient points: Egg Incubator first, always.

Palworld Beginners Wiki FAQ
What should I do first in Palworld?
Catch every Pal you see, build a Palbox on flat ground next to stone and trees, craft a Primitive Workbench and a Feed Box, and assign three Pals to handling, mining and watering. Fight your first alpha only once you have 20 spheres and a bow.
What is the best starter Pal in Palworld?
Lamball for handling and wool, Cattiva for mining and carrying capacity, and Pengullet for watering and cooling. None of the three are strong fighters, so pair them with a Foxparks or Chillet for combat.
What level should I be for the first Palworld tower boss?
Level 15 to 20 with a Pal team of at least level 15 and a bow or crossbow. Zoe and Grizzbolt are Electric, so bring Ground Pals such as Dumud or Fuddler.
Why do my Pals stop working in Palworld?
Almost always sanity or pathing. Check for a Hot Spring and beds, keep the Feed Box stocked, and remove workstations placed on slopes or behind walls the Pal cannot route around.
