Shortest Breeding Route Calculator Palworld
Palworld breeding is not random. Every Pal has a hidden Breed Power (also called Combi-Rank) value between roughly 10 and 1500, and the child that pops out of the egg is decided by the exact formula (parentA_power + parentB_power + 1) ÷ 2, rounded down. The Breed Power formula
Child Breed Power = floor((Parent A + Parent B + 1) / 2). Palworld then picks the Pal with the closest Breed Power at or below that number as the child. There are ~130 explicit override pairings for special Pals like Jetragon, Frostallion and Anubis, which always override the math.
Reading a Breed Power chart
Community-datamined tables list every Pal's Breed Power. Low-tier Pals like Lamball (1500) and Cattiva (1490) sit at the top of the chart, while endgame Pals like Jetragon (100) and Frostallion (110) sit near the bottom. Lower Breed Power = later-game Pal.
Worked example — breeding Anubis
Anubis (Breed Power 470) is produced by two parents averaging 470. Penking (500) + Bushi (440) = floor((500+440+1)/2) = 470 → Anubis. This is why the classic Penking × Bushi combo is the earliest reliable Anubis route.
Why some combos are overrides
