Ranch optimization and passive skill inheritance
The Ranch is the second half of Palworld's breeding economy: it drops the Milk, Eggs and Honey your cakes need, and it doubles as a passive-skill farm. Optimizing your Ranch layout and understanding passive inheritance is what separates a level-30 casual base from a legendary-breeding endgame factory.

Ranch capacity and Pal assignments
One Ranch supports 4 assigned Pals. Optimal loadout for breeding: 2 Mozzarina (Milk), 1 Chikipi (Eggs), 1 Beegarde (Honey). Add a second Ranch for double throughput or swap in Vixy (Pal Spheres) for a mixed economy.
How passive skill inheritance works
Each parent has up to 4 passives. The child inherits 1–4 passives, weighted toward the parent with higher-tier passives. Reroll by re-breeding until the child rolls Legend, Lucky, Ferocious and Musclehead — the top DPS stack.
The 4-passive god-roll
For a DPS Pal target: Legend (+15% ATK/-10% dmg taken), Musclehead (+30% ATK, -50% work speed), Ferocious (+20% ATK) and Lucky (+15% ATK). For a worker Pal target: Artisan, Serious, Work Slave and Legend.
Gender odds and re-roll speed
Every egg is 50/50 gender. Legendary eggs take 2 hours 30 minutes to hatch on default settings — reduce hatch time to 30 minutes in the world settings for faster passive rolls. Use Incubators near a campfire for the +Heat bonus.
