What the multiplier means

Palworld's catch formula multiplies a Pal's base capture rate by the sphere multiplier, then applies bonuses for missing health, sleep/stun status and back attacks. A 2× sphere does not guarantee a catch — it shifts the roll, and a Pal at 10% health with a status effect can double that again.

Recipe and cost

Crafting cost: 5 Paldium Fragment, 10 Wood, 5 Ingot, 3 Cement. Paldium Fragment is the limiter early and Pal Metal Ingot later, so keep a mining base running — see /guides/ore-coal-base for the best node clusters.

When to unlock it

Unlocked at Technology level 22. Buying the tech early is usually wrong: craft a stack of the previous tier and upgrade once the Pals you actually want are out of its comfortable band.

Ideal targets

Best used on pals up to about level 30. Above that band your throws start bouncing and you lose more material than you would by weakening the target first.

Effort versus reward

A missed throw costs the full recipe, so weakening a Pal to red health before throwing is cheaper than throwing two spheres at full health. Ice or Electric status damage is the safest way to bring a target low without killing it.
