Best mining Pals for quartz
Prioritise the highest Mining level you can breed or catch, then add passives that raise work speed and reduce sanity loss, and keep one Transporting Pal per two miners.

Mining level is king
A single high-level miner outperforms three low-level ones because node interactions are per-Pal. Upgrade the miner before adding bodies.
Work-speed passives
Stack work-speed passives on your dedicated miners. On a farm running all day, a modest percentage difference compounds into whole stacks.
Sanity management
Add a hot spring or bed capacity so miners recover. A sanity-drained crew silently halves your throughput.
Transport support
Assign Transporting Pals so mined quartz reaches chests. This is the fix for a base full of dropped items and idle miners.
