Souls, costs and paying for cards
Souls are the Palworld TCG's resource system. You set one card per turn as a Soul, then rest Souls to pay a card's printed cost — so a cost-5 Legendary Pal is only online once you have five Souls available.

Setting Souls
One card per turn during the Soul Phase, from hand. Any card can be set, which makes dead draws recoverable instead of wasted.
Paying costs
Rest the required number of Souls. They stand again in your next Start Phase, so double-spending in one turn is impossible.
Colour requirements
Red, Blue, Green, Purple and Colorless costs must be matched by Souls of that colour. Two-colour decks want a near-even Soul spread or you brick.
Soul Deck vs Souls in play
The 10-card Soul Deck is your life total and is separate from Souls you set for cost. Do not confuse the two zones — they never interact.
Curve advice
Aim for 12-16 cards at cost 1-2, a strong cost-3 body, and no more than 6 cards above cost 5 in a 50-card list.
