Checking a fair price

A fair price is the current ask range cross-checked against recent completed sales, adjusted for condition and listing depth. A single cheap listing is not a market.

Updated for the current Palworld patch

Key takeaways
  • Look at listing depth
  • Completed sales
  • Adjust for condition
  • Include shipping

Look at listing depth

Several sellers within a tight band means the price is real. One outlier with no comparables means nothing.

Completed sales

Recent completed listings are stronger evidence than active asks. Until approved sold-data feeds land, the Pal Stars card pages link directly to eBay sold searches for that exact card.

Adjust for condition

Near-mint and lightly played copies of the same card are different products. Do not pay a graded price for a raw card with edge wear.

Include shipping

Compare landed cost, not headline price. A cheap card with expensive shipping is not cheap.

Watch the basket

If the Pal Stars TCG price index is moving, the whole market is moving — that is different from one card spiking, and it changes whether you should wait.
