Palworld rarity pull rates and what a box actually gives you

Rarity tells you how a card was distributed, so rarity is what pull-rate maths is built on. Instead of trusting a remembered ratio, run your own numbers from the packs you actually open.

Updated for the current Palworld patch

Key takeaways
  • Commons and Uncommons fill the pack
  • Holo slots carry R and RR
  • Chase tiers are per-box, not per-pack
  • Do the maths, do not guess

Commons and Uncommons fill the pack

The bulk of every pack is C and U. A sealed booster box of 12 packs will complete most of a set's base slots long before it produces a chase card.

Holo slots carry R and RR

R and RR arrive through the pack's rare slot. Those are the cards that make a box feel productive without moving its resale value much.

Chase tiers are per-box, not per-pack

SR, SP, OSR, SSP and SSS are the tiers collectors chase, and expecting one per pack is the fastest way to overspend. Model the probability of at least one hit across a box or a case rather than per pack.

Do the maths, do not guess

The Pal Stars TCG tools page runs the binomial maths: enter your observed hit rate and it returns expected packs for 50%, 90% and 99% confidence. The pack calculator turns that into cost per hit at today's prices.

Log what you open

Track the pulls you keep in the Pal Stars collection binder with the price you paid. After two or three boxes your own data beats every second-hand rate quoted on social media.
