Scarcity plus demand, not scarcity alone
An SSP of an unpopular Pal can sell below an SR of a headline Pal. Rarity narrows the pool of copies; demand for that specific Pal decides the price inside the pool.
Read the live figure, never a remembered one
The Pal Stars price chart publishes validated eBay asking and sold data per printed code, with the number of listings sampled. Quote that, not a screenshot from last season.
Raw versus graded
Graded copies of OSR, SSP and SSS printings trade in a different market from raw copies, which is why Pal Stars tracks them separately instead of blending them into one average. Check the graded population before you pay a slab premium.
Promos and Not-For-Sale printings
PR promos, including the event Not-For-Sale cards, have no retail price to anchor against, so their market is thin and volatile. Treat any single listing as one seller's opinion.
