How Palworld schematics work
Schematics are drop-based blueprints that unlock upgraded versions of weapons and armour you already know how to craft. They come in rarity tiers, and a higher tier of the same schematic produces a stronger item from the same materials.

Tech tree vs schematics
The tech tree gives you the base recipe; schematics give you better versions of it. You need both to reach top-end gear.
Rarity tiers
The same weapon can appear at several rarity tiers. Always craft from the highest tier schematic you hold — the material cost does not scale with the bonus.
One-time unlock
A schematic unlocks the improved recipe permanently for that character. Duplicates of a lower tier are safe to discard once a higher tier is in hand.
Where the power comes from
Schematic tier plus material quality decides your practical combat power far more than character level does at the top end.
Check before farming
Look at which of your mainline weapons is still on a low tier. Farming a schematic for a weapon you never use is the classic wasted evening.
